Kegging Notes

Here the steps to carbonate the keg using the CO2 regulator and guage (as provided by Uncle Wayne).
- Follow all safety precautions with the CO2 container and hooking it up to the regulator and keg.
- Set guage to 35-40 lbs
- Open CO2 valve for 40 seconds.
- Close valve
- Shake keg…I usually tilt the keg to about 45 degrees, then move it to a 20 degree tilt, back to a 45 etc for about 15 seconds. This mixes the co2 with the beer.
- Let the keg sit for about an hour
- Set guage to 35-40 lbs
- Open CO2 valve for 40 seconds.
- Close valve
- Shake keg again using the same process above.
- Let keg sit for 24 hours
- Set guage somewhere between 3-8 lbs
- Open valve
- Drink and enjoy.
